Community members can donate toys or make a monetary contribution through the end of July, when Santa will visit pediatric patients at Wolfson Children’s Hospital.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Making spirits bright at Wolfson Children’s Hospital — that’s the goal of the annual Christmas in July toy and donation drive, now underway through the end of the month.
Community members are invited to help bring comfort and joy to children receiving care at the children’s hospital. You can make a financial gift at ChristmasJuly.com or shop the Wolfson Children’s Hospital Amazon wish list, featuring sensory toys, arts and crafts items and even items for Jude, the hospital’s Facility Dog.
Those wishing to donate can also drop off new, unwrapped toys at Subaru of Jacksonville, located at 1717 St. Johns Bluff Road South, through Tuesday, July 29. Gift cards can be dropped off by contacting the hospital’s Family Support Services department, or they can be emailed to ChildLife@bmcjax.com.
Online donations last through July 31. At the conclusion of the Christmas in July donation drive, Santa Claus will make a visit to the pediatric patients at Wolfson Children’s Hospital to deliver toys and spend time with the children.
According to a release from Wolfson Children’s Hospital, health care professionals use toys to explain medical procedures to children and ease anxiety. Gift cards, like those from Starbucks, DoorDash or Amazon, serve as helpful support for teens and patient families, the release says.
